One of two associations representing the people of Kairuku Hiri.  Originally, simply the Hiri Association, the fairly large political boundaries saw a splitting away of the Lagato Association several years ago.

The union remains split even though a resolution to amalgamate the two to to represent the Kairuku Hiri political boundaries and a rationalisation of the Motu Kiota to embrace the Propreporena association.

A clearer definition still has not emerged as to what village or group will come under the auspicies of what association.
